Write on the document directly

Click any text on the document to edit it: the project title, your name, the date, the items and prices, the conditions and notes. The subtotal, tax and total update automatically with every change. On proposals, set Valid for in days, and your client sees the date the proposal expires.

The top bar

The Sections panel

In the Sections panel next to the document:
  • Show or hide a section with the switch next to its name. A hidden section isn’t shown to your client on the link, or in the PDF or image.
  • Reorder sections by dragging them by their handle. The footer always stays at the end of the document.
  • Section settings sit behind the gear icon, on these sections:
Proposal sections: Client, Summary, Scope of Work, Services & Pricing, Timeline, Payment, Conditions, Notes and Verification. Invoice sections: Client, Items, Conditions, Notes, Bank Details and Verification.

Its own order for one document

When you drag a section, this document gets its own order, and two options appear:
  • Use default: returns the document to your account’s order.
  • Make default: makes this order the order of your new documents.
You can also change the default order in Settings under Preferences, in Document sections order.

Template and status

  • Template: how the document looks to your client. On the Free plan the document follows your default template; on Pro and Agency you pick a different template for each document. See Client View Studio.
  • Status: Draft, Sent, Accepted, Paid or Cancelled. Each status is explained in Managing documents.
