# Share a document

> Send your document by email, on WhatsApp or as a link you copy. Your client opens it without needing an account.

Click **Share** at the top of the editor, then pick a way:

    1. Click **Send by email**.
    2. Enter your client's email, or pick it from **Or pick a client**.
    3. Click **Send the email now**.

    Your client gets an email in your name with a **View Document** button, and the document's status changes to **Sent** automatically.

    If you made a PDF of the document before, we attach it to the email. Changed the document since? Click **Download** then **Update PDF** before sending, so the file carries your latest edits.

    Click **WhatsApp**, and WhatsApp opens with a ready message containing the document type, number and link. Pick your client and send it.

    Click **Copy link** and paste it anywhere: a text message, a social platform, or your own email.

<Warning>
  When you share on WhatsApp or copy the link, the status stays **Draft**. Change it to **Sent** in the **Status** panel in the editor, so your client sees the **Accept proposal** button and doesn't see the word "Draft" on the document.

You can also copy the link or share on WhatsApp from the actions menu next to the document on **Documents**.

## About the link

* **Private**: every document has a unique link that's hard to guess. Anyone with the link can open the document, so share it only with your client.
* **Always current**: the link shows the latest saved version. If you edit after sharing, your client sees the change when they open the link or refresh the page.
* **In the document's language**: it opens in the document's language and direction, whatever your app language is.
* **Ends when the document is deleted**: if you delete the document, the link stops working right away.

## Monthly email limits

Each plan has a monthly limit on document emails: 10 on **Free**, 300 on **Pro** and 500 on **Agency**. There's no limit on sharing the link or on WhatsApp.
